Taylor-Swift
Taylor Swift, full Taylor Alison Swift. American singer/songwriter who's had great success with the tales she recounts about her early heartbreak. Swift began to show an desire to work in the music industry at a young age. Her career progressed rapidly from children's play roles to her first public appearance in the presence of thousands. Swift began writing music at the age of 11. She performed The Star-Spangled Banner for a Philadelphia 76ers NBA game. Swift, who took her influences from the music of Shania Twain and that of her band the Dixie Chicks now known as The Chicks within the realm of music from the country genre, created the songs of her own to convey her feelings of alienation. At the age of 13, Swift's parents sold their farm in Pennsylvania to move to Hendersonville Tennessee so she could dedicate more time in courting the country music labels in nearby Nashville.
